About the role

Bring Big Four rigor to a company building the financial backbone of American compute — where your close, your reconciliations, and your judgment shape infrastructure as it scales.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the monthly and quarterly close — prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaid amortization, and recurring entries.
  • Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, ensuring sub-ledger balances tie to the general ledger and bank statements.
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to GAAP and company standards.
  • Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences in a timely manner.
  • Aid in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
  • Maintain and update the chart of accounts; assign entries to proper accounts.
  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger — record additions, disposals, and transfers; calculate and post depreciation per company capitalization policy.
  • Process and code vendor invoices for payment; ensure proper approval and documentation prior to disbursement.
  • Support accounts payable including vendor setup, payment runs, and reconciliation of vendor statements.
  • Support the external audit process, including PBC schedule preparation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal controls documentation.
  • Organize financial data for external advisors; support state and federal reporting compliance.
  • Support accounting processes specific to data center infrastructure — energy cost allocation, hosting contract revenue recognition, and digital asset accounting.
  • Help build and maintain accounting procedures as the company expands across additional states and facilities.
  • Direct the activities of vendors engaged in recording, compiling, and transmitting financial records.
  • Support cash management including reviewing disbursement requests in accordance with company policy.
  • Provide accounting support and guidance to other organizational units as needed.

  • CPA required (active license, or actively pursuing with completion within 6 months of hire).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred; Finance or related field considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of Big 4, or equivalent, experience in an audit role.
  • Experience with ERP systems required (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or equivalent); implementation or optimization experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP; ability to apply accounting standards to day-to-day transactions.
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills; attention to detail in a high-volume environment.
  • ERP proficiency (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar); willingness to learn and optimize systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas); financial reporting tools a plus.
  • Ability to support the external audit process, including PBC schedule preparation.
  • Strong critical thinking — able to identify discrepancies, trace root causes, and propose solutions.
  • Excellent communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment.
  • Self-driven; able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
