Accountant
About the role
The Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Corporate Accounting team with monthly corporate close activities and legal entity statutory compliance. This position focuses on financial close and consolidation, statutory reporting, legal entity termination, and ERP transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate close and consolidation processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Post journal entries, run trial balances, review financial statements, and resolve variances and items that do not tie out.
- Prepare compliance metrics and other statutory reporting requirements to support legal entity and regulatory obligations.
- Create journal entries, run trial balances, review financial statements, and perform a variety of controllership activities to maintain strong financial controls.
- Support the legal entity termination program by managing an assigned portfolio of entities from legal termination through liquidation and system inactivation, acting as both accountant and project manager.
- Cook up and track progress for legal entity terminations, ensuring all financial, compliance, and system requirements are completed before shutdown.

- Support ERP migration to SAP S/4HANA through data validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), reconciliations, and go-live readiness activities.
- Perform reconciliations, including bank and general ledger reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Aid in financial close and consolidation activities in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, leveraging system functionality to improve reporting and control.
- Prepare and review financial reporting packages, including balance sheet and income statement analyses, to support internal and external reporting needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and global subsidiary teams to ensure statutory compliance and alignment of accounting practices.
- Identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement resolutions to improve processes and strengthen financial controls.
- Manage multiple deliverables and deadlines in line with the close calendar, adjusting priorities based on business needs.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders, providing updates on close status, compliance activities, and ERP migration progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 2 years of accounting or finance experience, or a master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 1 year of accounting or finance experience.
- Hands-on experience with financial close and consolidation activities.
- Proficiency in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience working in SAP ECC for at least 3 years.
- Experience working in SAP S/4HANA for at least 3 years.
- Strong skills in reconciliations, including bank reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Knowledge of statutory compliance and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Work Environment
This is a 100% remote position, with a preference for candidates who can work effectively in a Pacific Time Zone schedule. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, totaling approximately 40 hours per week, with potential opportunities for extension based on business needs. You will work alongside a Corporate Accounting team in a large multinational organization, collaborating virtually with colleagues across different regions and functions. The role involves extensive use of SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and Microsoft Office applications, supported by a standard supplier-provided laptop and accessories. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, aligned to monthly, quarterly, and annual close calendars, while also offering opportunities to participate in ERP transformation and legal entity termination projects. Dress code expectations are typical of a professional corporate setting when attending any video meetings or in-person interactions that may occur.
