About the role
Ackermann Group is seeking an Accountant to join our growing team at our corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will provide general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and ad hoc projects for commercial and multi-family real estate assets and investors. You will monitor and report on day-to-day accounting and financial transactions related to residential and commercial property management, following the policies and procedures outlined in the Operations Manual.
Responsibilities
- General Ledger maintenance, including preparing and posting journal entries and cash receipts, identifying and correcting errors in coding or booking
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities
- Bi-monthly account reconciliations for cash, receivables, payables, accruals, intercompany transactions, and lender obligations
- Communicating results with onsite property management teams
- Researching variances and reporting accordingly
- Keeping processes on time
- Interacting and collaborating with individuals in all areas of the company
- Representing the Company professionally at all times by maintaining a courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers, and the general public
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related field
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Yardi) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation
