Accountant - $78000

Primary Responsibilities

• Aid in the monthly and year-end close process while meeting established deadlines.
• Create and record monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid amortization, cash activity, and other miscellaneous transactions.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and address discrepancies.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including recording daily cash activity and preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and ensure the integrity of financial records.
• Identify unusual or unexpected activity and collaborate with the accounting team to resolve issues.
• Support process improvements aimed at enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes.
• Assist with accounting activities for multiple entities as the company expands.

Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close activities.
• A solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application to day-to-day accounting activities.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and the ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting.
• Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and working with large datasets.
• Experience using an ERP/accounting system, particularly Great Plains (GP).
• A strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• The ability to recognize unusual activity and take ownership of issues through resolution.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across the organization.
