About the role

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Finance, and with considerable latitude for discretion and independent judgement, this position provides financial and administrative support to the Departments of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences and Urology, as part of the Surgical Specialties IBO.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, reviews, and approves Workday transactions.
• Processes journal entries and payroll adjustments.
• Maintains and monitors procurement cards for compliance.
• Manages and submits Monthly Financial Review documents.
• Interprets, analyzes, reports, and reconciles financial data.
• Provides financial information to guide unit and university leadership.
• Recommends improvements to systems, methods, practices, policies, and procedures.
• Serves as the initial point of contact for department faculty and staff regarding Business Office concerns and inquiries.

Requirements

• Strong analytical, accounting, and financial management skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to analyze issues, respond to problems, and follow through on projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound independent judgment, intuition, and attention to detail.
• Experience with grant management and financial reporting analysis in a university or non-profit environment.
• Demonstrated ability with data analysis tools and financial software.
• Expertise in accounting theory and compliance matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance.
• Two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated application of financial, accounting, and economic concepts.
