About the role

This position is responsible for mid-level accounting processes, reporting, and accurate record keeping in assigned areas. It is a mid-level position with more than three years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills.

Responsibilities

  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Prepares monthly and year-end financial statements and journals
  • Adheres to all Company deadlines and reporting requirements as set by management or from Federal, State, and local rules and regulations
  • Investigates and resolves balance sheet reconciling items on a timely basis
  • Provides accounting assistance to senior management/business units and responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
  • Prepares internal financial reports and completes special projects as assigned by Finance Managers and Leadership
  • Aids in identifying risk by evaluating compliance and makes appropriate recommendations where necessary
  • Works safely at all times, and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Three years of related work experience required; six years preferred
  • None of the role involves supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of business accounting principles, budget preparation, and strong business acumen
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) as it applies to the industry and company
  • Working knowledge in the use of computer programs and systems utilized by the company (DBS, CODA, Sage100c, Clarity, Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong research, problem solving and investigation skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including both written and oral
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
