Responsibilities
- Media Relations & Story Development: Develop and execute media outreach programs, build relationships with business, trade and industry media and help identify opportunities that generate meaningful coverage.
- Corporate Communications & Content Development: Research, write and edit communications materials including news releases, fact sheets, messaging documents, contributed articles and other media materials.
- Client Management & Program Execution: Support day-to-day client work, helping manage timelines, deliverables and communications programs while ensuring high-quality execution.
- Industry Research & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitive activity and emerging issues to help inform communications strategies and identify opportunities for clients.
- Events & Stakeholder Engagement: Support the planning and execution of media events, speaking opportunities, press conferences and other stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Business Development & Agency Support: Contribute to new business efforts, proposal development and agency initiatives that help strengthen client relationships and support growth.
- Team Collaboration & Professional Growth: Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to a collaborative environment that encourages learning, development and high-quality work.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications or related fields; agency experience supporting corporate clients preferred.
- Experience supporting media relations programs and pitching stories to business, trade or industry media.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with experience developing pitches, news releases, contributed articles and other communications materials.
- Proven success building relationships with media and helping drive results for clients.
- Experience developing and executing communications programs that support business and reputational objectives.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to think strategically and contribute ideas that support client objectives and communications goals.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with confidence sharing ideas and recommendations with clients and internal teams.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint.
- Curiosity about business, media, communications and evolving industry trends.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn, contribute ideas and support team success.
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting integrated communications campaigns across earned, owned and social channels; experience contributing to event planning, conference outreach or stakeholder engagement initiatives; familiarity with executive communications, thought leadership or corporate storytelling programs; experience supporting B2B, financial services, financial technology or other corporate-focused clients.
Pay
Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 USD/yr. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
