About the Role

The Account Strategist is responsible for conceiving, managing, and executing online marketing initiatives and managing all advertising programs and associated revenue pre- and post-sale. This includes media plan creation, campaign implementation, optimization, reporting, program retention and renewal, and ensuring prompt and proper resolution of advertiser business issues. This role reports to the Associate Director, Performance Marketing.

You will work closely with Partnerships leadership as well as the Account Strategy, Ad Ops, Invoicing/Billing, and Revenue Operations Teams at People Inc. You will serve as a trusted strategic partner to sales and clients, helping translate business objectives into impactful media recommendations while leveraging campaign insights, measurement solutions, and optimization strategies to exceed performance goals.

The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and passionate about identifying opportunities to evolve our offerings, strengthen client relationships, and grow revenue across the Performance Marketing Team.

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid with the ability to work remotely up to two days per week. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are typically required in-office days in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to RFPs, develop media plans in line with strategic marketing goals.
  • Execute and implement advertising campaigns to ensure delivery and performance. Includes taking a leadership role to coordinate efforts between other cross-functional teams as necessary to implement custom elements. Position interfaces with Ad Product and Creative.
  • Embody white glove service to clients and serve as the internal and external point of contact for execution, particularly in post-sale.
  • Work with Ad Operations to ensure clients’ ads are trafficked, monitored, and optimized.
  • Maximize campaign performance and company revenue by coordinating reports to further increase success rate and renew/grow current business.
  • Update contract management system with campaign change orders (campaign delays, optimizations, etc.) and alert team of changes that will affect revenue.

Essential Job Functions Weight:

  • 50% Pre Sale - media planning, internal coordination
  • 50% Post Sale - execute campaigns, act as liaison between all internal and external teams, monitor pacing and performance, create wrap decks (if needed)

Requirements

  • 4-year degree required; marketing or business degree preferred. Additional digital marketing or sales experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum of 2 years of marketing, sales, and/or account management experience; including one year of digital advertising experience. Project management experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Performance Marketing tactics & execution is a plus.
  • Prior experience with Google Ad Manager is a plus.
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and influential written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly form relationships usually by telephone or email.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally; ability to exercise judgment and flexibility in balancing program requirements, milestones, and keeping people and projects moving on schedule.
  • High attention to detail. Strong analytical, quantitative, and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
  • Positive and confident disposition when responding to frequent deadlines for multiple customers (internal and external).
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office products. Ability to use databases. Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Familiarity with Looker is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build positive team relationships.
  • Be able to think strategically and act tactically.

Pay

Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $80,000.00. The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.
