Job Information
The primary objective of this position is to provide exceptional customer service in support of water and wastewater utility operations. Responsible in resolving customer concerns, maintaining billing accuracy, and fostering strong relationships through responsive service and clear communication. Core responsibilities include explaining utility services, billing rates, and payment options; collecting monthly payments; establishing payment arrangements; managing delinquent accounts; and assisting customers with online account access; and works closely with internal departments.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and three (3) years of experience in a customer service, collection, or accounting environment.
- Employment is conditional based on satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
Additional Important Information
- Preference will be given to Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees. AMEA employees who are successful in the screening process will be forwarded to the department for consideration prior to any non-AMEA candidates.
- The Municipality of Anchorage participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-verify Program.
- If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon a satisfactory Municipal Employment Office conducted Background Check.
