Account Representative I (Territory Sales Rep)
Job Summary
The Account Representative I (AR I) is responsible for executing product and revenue plans for the assigned account portfolio, monitoring performance, and reporting on all key performance indicators. This person leads the offense for long-term Strategic Partnership Planning with these accounts and owns all aspects of the account relationship.
Representative Responsibilities
- Develops 3-year strategic partnership plans and a vision of the partnership opportunity between Carhartt & the strategic account based on a detailed understanding of the customer's industry & position in the market
- Determines solutions that meet the account’s business challenges which also benefit Carhartt’s financial performance with the account
- Champions ideas internally & develops support across the organization for their execution
- Able to obtain customer commitment to mutually beneficial sales propositions
- Identifies unique, non-standard approaches to creating customer value. Successfully sells idea internally & to the customer
- Capable of discussing customer’s business situation & identify opportunities based on a sound understanding of the issues
- Reacts promptly to issues & provides on-going service. Is seen as a trusted partner by the account
- Possess familiarity with account planning, brand marketing, channel management, and retail analytics
- Must be a creative thinker who is able to balance the “analytical” and the “intuitive”
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
Required Education
Minimum of 3 years of sales or sales related experience; preferably within strategic accounts

- Minimum of 3 years of sales or sales related experience; preferably within strategic accounts
- Proficient in planning and critical thinking; understands fundamentals of forecasting and connects tasks with bigger picture
- Solid communication and presentation skills; conveys information concisely and accurately
- Practiced at building effective relationships with others; encourages and models behaviors that contribute to partnership internally and externally
- Strong time management and organization skills; is able to accurately identify true priorities and effectively eliminates barriers to success
- Demonstrated ability to recognize selling opportunities in competitive adjacencies in order to displace competitors
- Demonstrates understanding of which products to offer when, where, and why
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
- Typical office environment; office setting
- Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required
- Willing to work some weekends if necessary
- National and International travel required (up to 50%)
