About the role

Oversee a portfolio of business relationships in the transportation industry to achieve client and risk management goals for FirstLine Funding Group. Develop strong client relationships and ensure overall client satisfaction by leveraging relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently interact with factoring clients to build strong relationships through thorough and meaningful conversations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor with guidance from management, offering solutions on prospective debtors and receivable strategies to enhance client aging performance and profitability.
  • Monitor and identify trends in portfolio activity with oversight, mitigating risk and addressing discrepancies promptly.
  • Regularly review and assess receivable aging for each client to ensure satisfactory performance.
  • Analyze client-provided financials for assigned clients when appropriate.
  • Apply sound credit judgment, with input from management, to evaluate risks associated with prospective and existing clients.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive credit proposals and recommendations, collaborating with credit and operations teams for prudent risk management.
  • Monitor current factoring files to ensure proper maintenance according to established procedures and update account information for accuracy.
  • Oversee in-process factoring files for complete and accurate documentation, managing any required review processes, portfolio reviews, risk rating changes, and portfolio documentation.
  • Manage reserve accounts and report concerns regarding reserve balances as they pertain to risk on accounts-receivable aging.
  • Communicate the benefits and advantages of factoring products to prospective clients and referral sources.
  • Review industry publications and attend functions to gain knowledge of industry trends and competitors.
  • Structure, prepare, and present client opportunities for factoring relationships with input from management.
  • Assist the business development team in reviewing and analyzing new prospective client relationships to drive revenue growth.
  • Consult with leadership to ensure account portfolios align with credit policies and approval requirements.
  • Advise management on client account matters, including business activities, performance, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Stay informed of industry, economic, and financial trends that may impact the factoring client portfolio.
  • Attend and contribute to team, underwriting, business development, and risk management meetings.
  • Adhere to FBT policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and comply with all required training.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree plus two years of relevant work experience or equivalent.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with proven analytical skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Basic financial acumen and familiarity with accounts receivable concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple business clients, assist with project initiatives, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn factoring operating system technology.
