Account Representative

About the role
We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to support our customers, sales teams, and internal teams by initiating front-end processes. This role translates customer requirements into organizational demand while delivering exceptional service throughout the customer journey. The position interfaces with technical aspects of commercial refrigeration specifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare customer bid packages
- Determine customer product needs, such as suggesting upselling options, better margins, cost of products, and product type
- Configure complex products within internal software to provide quotations to external customers, regional sales managers, and dealers
- Manage orders throughout the full sales cycle from quotes to equipment installation
- Responsible for price quotations and/or orders
- Reconcile pricing discrepancies to confirm purchase orders
- Liaise with internal Engineering, Product Management, Technical Support, Planning, TAG, and Production to determine technical feasibility of new products and configuration options
- Partner with finance, shipping, and production to clear credit issues and maintain communication with external customers, regional sales managers, and dealers
- Act as internal point of contact for account(s) as incoming and outgoing conduit
- Collaborate with all internal departments, answering questions regarding orders, customer specifications, and opportunities for assigned account(s)
- Provide order status updates to external customers, regional sales managers, and dealers
- Participate in customer visits to contribute to presentations and process clarification
- Create and maintain general work instruction and customer specification documents for accounts
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in a business-related field or, in lieu of education, 2-3 years’ experience in account management, customer service, or inside sales
- Customer focus – ability to keep the needs of the customer front of mind with every initiative
- 2 years’ experience in an OEM manufacturing environment
- Understanding of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook and Excel)
- Basic HVAC/R knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication
