About the role

This is a remote position. The Water Treatment Sales Representative will identify, develop, and service existing and new accounts in the greater market, working closely with customers to provide tailored water treatment programs.

Responsibilities

  • Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules.
  • Develop and perform all sales activities in the assigned territory, including lead generation, cold calling, and appointment setting.
  • Promote and sell maintenance services to new and existing Chem-Aqua customers.
  • Provide hands-on servicing of accounts, including chemical testing, calibration and repair of chemical feed equipment, and visual inspections of systems.
  • Schedule service and sales calls, including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
  • Identify new business needs and opportunities, and develop customized solutions for customers.
  • Perform physical work in HVAC, cooling towers, or boiler equipment environments, requiring exposure to chemicals, noise, hot & cold temperatures, and inclement weather.
  • Climb and descend stairs and ladders (10-30’ in height), sometimes while carrying drums of chemicals weighing up to 50 pounds, maintaining 3-point ladder contact per OSHA rules.
  • Wear protective gear for the face, ears, and hands.
  • Travel 35% of the time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; College Degree preferred.
  • Experience in water treatment, water hygiene, environmental health and safety, and/or secondary disinfection is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales with a proven successful track record.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience working on teams from multiple locations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Knowledgeable in CRM software or related systems.
  • Proficient in using computers, tablets, smartphones, and other work-related technology.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Good physical ability; the job requires frequent walking to and from worksites.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (DMV record will be checked).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends depending on account servicing needs.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $60,000–$70,000, excluding bonus earnings, overtime pay, or commissions. Commissions are uncapped and may constitute a substantial part of overall compensation. Actual salaries will vary based on experience, education, training, location, merit, and other factors.
