Account Manager, Healthcare Congresses
About the role
The Account Manager will have long-term career goals within pharmaceutical congress and medical meeting and event management with the intent of maintaining and growing business, as well as, managing an account team as it pertains to assigned accounts.
Responsibilities
- Consult clients on strategic congress planning and management
- Manage and oversee Pharma congress management experience
- Experience in US and international congresses, satellite symposia, and exhibitions
- On-site operation including staff management at large-scale congress events
- Understand hotel spend caps, regulatory codes, HCP, EFPIA, and pharma code
- Understand regulatory sign off within a healthcare company
- Understand HCP reporting and reimbursements
- Understand the lifecycle to drug development and congress strategy alignment
- Understand the cadence of pharmaceutical meetings and congresses
- Know the acronyms and terms used in pharmaceutical companies
- Managed high-volume accounts with a combination of long and short lead times
- Hotel contract negotiation
- Hotel sourcing through Cvent
- Menu planning in a regulated environment
- Meeting space management/Ancillary Meeting Space Management
- Budget creation and management
- Cost savings tracking
- Quarterly and EOY Reporting
- Vendor management
- Attendee registration
- Rooming list management
- Transportation/manifest management
- Agenda design, content, production services and video production
- Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook, Database Management
- Expert level proficiency working within Cvent
- Effective, professional business communication skills, - written, presentation, client contact
- Ability to manage a team of employees and oversee teams on larger or complex client-specific projects while effectively delegating tasks
- Travel savvy - ability to travel 1-2 weeks per month (on average, actual travel varies based on client requirements)
- Industry Affiliations – MPI, PCMA, SITE, others
Qualifications
- 7+ Years domestic and international meeting or event planning experience to include the management & oversight of- Pharma congress management experience
- Thorough understanding of hotel spend caps, regulatory codes, HCP, EFPIA, and pharma code
- Thorough understanding of regulatory sign off within a healthcare company

$90,000 - $105,000 + commission
