Primary Role

The Employee Benefits Account Manager (AM) collaborates with the Producer, Account Executive (AE), and Account Administrator (AA) to manage a portfolio of employee benefits clients. This role involves coordinating daily service, managing the annual renewal and marketing process, maintaining client relationships, supporting client retention, and fostering strong carrier relationships. The AM also serves as the primary point of contact, resolving client inquiries and issues, and leading the full renewal and Request for Proposal (RFP) process in collaboration with AEs.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serves as the main point of contact for clients, resolving their questions and issues.
  • Maintains strong carrier relationships and understands client needs.
  • Supports client retention and manages claims and coverage issues.
  • Organizes meetings with clients and presents to them.
  • Learns about HUB’s consulting practices and resources and educates clients on how to utilize them.
  • Attends industry-related continuing education training and courses.
  • Works within a team supporting multiple AEs & AAs with their books of business.
  • Manages client projects and ensures open and consistent communication.
  • Manages new carriers, plans, or vendors and oversees their implementation.
  • Executes new client onboarding and provides timely, accurate reports.
  • Communicates with clients, advises them on compliance matters, and sends monthly reports.
  • Develops open enrollment strategies, conducts benefits presentations, and records these presentations for HR managers and employees.
  • Maintains accurate client and carrier files and manages HUB’s client tracking system (monday.com).
  • Provides mentorship to Account Administrators when applicable.

Experience And Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2-4 years of related experience working as an Account Manager or Account Representative in the employee benefit arena (equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable).
  • L&H License required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Other Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
  • Dependable transportation required.
  • No travel required.
  • Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Follows guidelines for working in BMS (BenefitPoint) for premium efficiency with the team.
