About the role
Heffernan Insurance Brokers is looking for an experienced Account Manager to join its Commercial Lines team. This dynamic role provides a spectrum of innovative strategies to develop and maintain customers’ insurance and risk-management needs.
Responsibilities
- Market and manage assigned client accounts.
- Coordinate all aspects of the renewal marketing process with the client; provide program structure, review, and analysis.
- Prepare account specifications, negotiate pricing, and finalize policy conditions.
- Prepare and transmit policy summaries and ensure policies are checked and delivered in a timely manner.
- Prepare invoices and work with staff to issue Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and Evidence of Insurance (EOIs) promptly to meet client and vendor needs.
- Prepare account proposals for presentation.
- Provide technical expertise in coverage areas and current markets.
- Explain and clarify coverage forms to clients.
- Manage account services, coordinate and direct activities, and expand existing accounts by developing new coverages.
- Ensure thorough documentation on each account with strict adherence to proper E&O procedures.
- Handle complex accounts.
- Perform other duties and special technical projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate/GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in an Account Management or related position.
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license required.
- CIC or equivalent designation (e.g., CPCU or ARM) preferred.
- Adaptable, self-starter with experienced decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and oral.
- Problem-solving, analytical, and marketing skills.
- Organized with strong time-management abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Pay
$75,000 – $90,000 per year. This role is eligible to participate in an annual bonus program. Compensation will depend on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
