About the Role
Verdesian Life Sciences is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Account Manager to support growth across Central Nebraska. In this role, you will expand Verdesian's retail partner network, drive sales of our full product portfolio, and serve as a trusted advisor to customers. The ideal candidate combines strong agricultural sales experience with a passion for helping growers and retailers improve nutrient use efficiency and crop performance.
Location: Central Nebraska (Remote)
Responsibilities
- Drive territory growth by developing relationships with new retail partners and expanding existing accounts to achieve sales and profit objectives.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, lead generation, cold calling, product presentations, negotiations, closing sales, and account management.
- Establish yourself as a trusted consultant by maintaining expert product knowledge and providing solutions that address customer challenges.
- Develop and execute annual territory business plans, including sales forecasts, budget management, and growth strategies.
- Utilize lead generation programs, research trials, and demonstration opportunities to build market awareness and customer engagement.
- Organize and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly sales activities to achieve territory goals.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Customer Service, R&D, and other internal teams to share market intelligence and support customer success.
- Monitor and stay current on EPA and state regulatory requirements relevant to the territory.
- Represent Verdesian professionally in the marketplace and cultivate relationships that strengthen the company's reputation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional sales experience within the agriculture industry.
- Proven success in a business-to-business sales environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively manage territory plans, sales forecasts, and budgets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience selling inoculants, fertilizer enhancers, micronutrients, or related agricultural products (preferred).
- Knowledge of biological technologies and their application within agriculture (preferred).
- Experience with lead generation and customer qualification strategies (preferred).
- Experience working with agricultural retailers, Certified Crop Advisors (CCAs), independent crop consultants, and other industry stakeholders (preferred).
- Ability to build relationships within academic and research communities (preferred).
