About the role
The Account Manager will focus on presenting, promoting, and selling Richards' Packaging products from the Industrial Packaging Distribution portfolio. The role involves delivering organic growth by exceeding sales and margin budgets for both new and existing customers.
Responsibilities
- Plan all sales-related activities such as customer visits, prospect visits, events, training, territory strategies, and creating customer presentations.
- Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop sales opportunities to meet Richards' Packaging sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Possess the ability to prospect to open and secure new accounts.
- Conduct customer training events and represent Richards at industry trade shows.
- Perform administrative responsibilities including internal reporting, information management, CRM usage, and daily sales call reporting.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business-related field.
- At least 3-5 years of successful industry or related sales experience.
- Previous sales experience with CPG related products is preferred.
- Strong sales and relationship development skills, experience in a competitive environment, and proficiency in effectively communicating and presenting relevant products.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and recommend new sales initiatives for Richards and its customers.
- Ability to manage territory records of all current and prospective customers using Richards' CRM.
- Manage territory expenses, samples, and consignments in accordance with company policies.
- Skilled in researching relevant material and creating effective sales presentations.
- Exceptional computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office products like MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Capable of maintaining accuracy of customer-related information stored in corporate sales information systems (CRM).
- Proven track record as a team player, creative thinker, strong organizational and multi-tasking individual, with excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Pay
Estimated Compensation Range: Base Salary of $55,000 - $65,000 annually, with additional variable compensation (bonus).
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position with a 40-hour work week.
