About the role
This role is special because you’ll be one of the first Account Executives (AEs) in San Francisco, shaping both our revenue engine and product roadmap while building deep relationships with innovative tech companies.
Responsibilities
- Own inbound leads, generate pipeline, and close deals
- Understand customer pain points, help them evaluate Plain, and negotiate final price and contract terms
- Iterate sales fundamentals like ICP, pricing, segmentation, deal tracking, conversion ratios, and product development
- Bring the voice of the customer into product decisions; be a trusted partner to product and engineering
- Onboard customers with expansion potential alongside the Operations team
- Sell to companies with 5-249 employees
Requirements
- Have sold complex, integration-heavy B2B SaaS to SMB
- Bonus: Experience in an early GTM team (Series A to Series B)
- Lovely the craft of sales - running crisp discovery, delivering the best product demos, and negotiating with confidence
- Are detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Care as much about shaping product as you do about hitting quota
- Want to be in office and be in-market in San Francisco, meeting customers and learning from peers
Qualifications
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Looking for a Head of Sales role
- Working within a larger sales team with SDRs and SEs supporting you
- Dislike working with product or engineering

Compensation Range: $220K
