About The Job
Subsets (YC S23) is an early-stage startup focused on AI-driven subscription growth. As an Account Executive, you will handle the entire sales process from initial contact to contract signing. Your target customers are growth, retention, and marketing leaders in consumer subscription businesses.
Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle, including lead qualification and handoff to the customer team.
- Build and manage a pipeline of enterprise opportunities across news media, streaming, and e-commerce subscriptions, using both outbound prospecting and event follow-ups.
- Run discovery, demo, and commercial conversations with senior stakeholders and navigate complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
- Collaborate with Lifecycle Engineers and Solutions Engineers to ensure new customers get a strong start.
- Help define and refine the sales playbook, including messaging, industry buyer personas, objection handling, and processes.
- Build and maintain industry relationships and represent Subsets at key events and conferences.
Requirements
- A proven track record of owning a full enterprise sales cycle (including closing deals) and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder deals and building champions within organizations.
- Strong background in selling SaaS to subscription businesses or a strong willingness to develop this expertise.
- A consultative, value-focused approach that connects product benefits to business outcomes rather than technical specifications.
- A builder mindset: you're not just following a script but actively contributing to its creation.
- A strong inclination towards action and the ability to work independently in fast-paced, undefined environments.
- A preference for in-office work and being energized by the high-energy environment of early-stage startups.
