Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth & Market Penetration
- New Logo Acquisition: Identify, navigate, and win new enterprise business within frontier AI labs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, Meta) and high-growth AI technology firms.
- Relationship-Based Prospecting: Utilize a high-trust, consultative selling approach to connect with VPs of AI/ML, Heads of Data, and Research Directors. Focus on strategic, deeply technical alignments, not cold-call volume.
- Ecosystem Presence: Actively represent the company at key AI industry events, research conferences, and networking forums to build a high-fidelity pipeline.
- Solution Engineering Collaboration: Partner closely with internal technical teams and solution architects to design custom data pipelines that solve specific model training, alignment, and benchmarking bottlenecks.
- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Own the deal from initial discovery through complex technical procurement, legal, and data security reviews, into the initial pilot, and through the first major phase of scale.
- Departmental Strategy & Ownership
- Define and track departmental KPIs, including Net Revenue Retention (NRR), expansion velocity, and client health scores.
- Provide high-fidelity revenue forecasting and resource planning to leadership, identifying macro-trends across the portfolio to inform company-wide pivot points.
- High-Value Expansion & Revenue Growth
- Move beyond tactical upselling to design long-term retention frameworks that transform initial engagements into multi-year, multi-stream strategic alliances.
- Partner with Business Development and Product to identify gaps in the market, shaping service offerings in AI and data to meet the evolving needs of C-suite stakeholders.
- Team Mentorship & Management
- Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship, helping Account Managers navigate complex negotiations, technical scoping, and political dynamics within large organizations.
What Success Looks Like
- New Logo Count: Number of new enterprise accounts opened within the first 12 months.
- Pipeline Velocity: Speed at which initial networking conversations move to SOW (Statement of Work) or data pilot.
- Expansion Potential: Ability to land a project and identify a path to a $5M+ partnership within the first 18 months.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience selling complex, high-contract-value technical services, enterprise software, or digital infrastructure, with a strong focus on navigating fast-moving, high-growth technology sectors.
- High fluency in the AI/ML landscape. Comfortable speaking the language of data pipelines, RLHF, tokenization, model training, and data curation with technical buyers.
- Thrive in an environment with no pre-existing book of business. Proven ability to turn early-stage traction into stable, massive revenue streams.
- Track record of taking an initial exploratory conversation and turning it into a $1M+ initial engagement, with experience managing and growing large-scale enterprise books of business.
- Ability to consult with a research team or product manager to optimize their annotation strategies, offering data-backed alternatives on scaling human-in-the-loop workforces efficiently without sacrificing data density.
- Strong financial and operational acumen; understanding of contract structures, volume-based pricing models, and data security/compliance levers.
- Masterful presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex data-quality risks into clear, actionable summaries for executive stakeholders.
