About the role
The Account Executive for Contra Costa Times is responsible for developing and executing advertising programs for both print and digital media. The role involves cultivating new business relationships, managing sales goals, and providing consultative selling strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead prospecting and sales plan development for new and existing clients, focusing on digital opportunities
- Evaluate sales opportunities to design custom digital programs and craft proposals demonstrating value
- Achieve sales goals and objectives, including revenue, active accounts, contract performance, and market share
- Manage sales administration tasks, such as aging and flash reports, ensuring accurate processing of all ad orders
- Apply a deep understanding of internet and mobile advertising to solve client challenges
- Execute consultative selling strategies with a consistent ability to close high volumes of sales
Requirements
- Consultative selling expertise and a consistent ability to close a high volume of sales
- Strong written and verbal communication skills alongside a commitment to exceptional customer service
- Detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study (preferred)
- Prior experience in media sales is a plus
Qualifications
- Proven track record of sales success and a drive to meet revenue targets
Skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly range: $21.65 - $33.65
- Cell phone stipend, mileage reimbursement, and commission (on-target earning potential is $85,000-$90,000)
