About the role
As the Account Executive for Self-Assist Stores, you will drive sales revenue to achieve year-over-year growth and exceed sales budgets across Sephora and Ulta Beauty doors within the Maryland/Delaware territory. This role represents authority in the luxury beauty industry, influencing retailer associates through elevated selling, education, and artistry. You will work in-store alongside retailer teams, educate on newness and core SKUs, and cultivate meaningful relationships with store leadership at both Sephora and Ulta.
Responsibilities
- Sales Driven In-Store Activities
- Drive financial results in-store to maintain year-over-year growth and meet or exceed sales plans across assigned Sephora and Ulta doors.
- Demonstrate expertise in sales, product knowledge, and the self-assist retail market to create and execute territory strategies that accelerate growth of retail sales, newness, and core SKUs.
- Accelerate consumer conversion through education, artistry, and coaching of retailer employees.
- Conduct retention checks with Ulta associates following dedicated brand Daily Micro Trainings (DMT) and with Sephora employees following training sessions to reinforce brand knowledge and selling behaviors.
- Ensure retailer staff are well-versed in brand messaging, key franchise differentiation, and full assortment knowledge for YSL, Prada, and Miu Miu.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive team culture in-store, partnering with fellow L'Oréal Luxe brands and cross-category teams.
- Execute and lead in-store events and activations aligned with product launches and brand initiatives, driving incremental business and building brand awareness.
- Create a positive atmosphere by celebrating performance, encouraging open communication, and setting professional standards within retailer partnerships.
- Serve as a recognized expert in retail artistry across self-assist channels, demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit and credibility with retailer partners and consumers.
- Customer Centricity
- Accelerate customer acquisition and defend consumer retention through client relationship management, visual merchandising, and collaborative partnerships with store leadership.
- Partner with Sephora store leadership to request brand surveys post-visit to capture performance insights and identify training opportunities.
- Provide insights on consumer shopping behaviors, competitor activity, and evolving beauty trends within the self-assist retail environment.
- Evaluate and monitor inventory levels; escalate replenishment needs through appropriate channels to optimize in-store sales.
- Leverage virtual retailer tools like Glam Lab and Color IQ to personalize and elevate the consumer beauty experience.
- Operational
- Analyze Luxe Dashboard sales reporting to understand door and territory achievement vs. sales plan, growth vs. prior year, and evolving sales trends.
- Utilize Luxe Dashboards to monitor newness and core SKU performance and track sales trends following key market trainings and activations.
- Partner with the Regional Sales Director to forecast individual door sales plans and collaborate on door development strategies.
- Assess and evaluate each door's gondola productivity and brand rank, focusing on Top 100 doors, and surface improvement opportunities.
- Recruit, hire, and train freelance Beauty Advisors to meet and exceed sales budgets through team selling, artistry coaching, and brand education.
- Evaluate freelancer performance monthly and review market results with the Regional Sales Director to optimize hour allocations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in retail or the service industry.
- 3+ years of beauty or retail management experience; self-assist retail experience (Sephora and/or Ulta) strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication and empathy skills.
- Sound judgment and ability to make thoughtful decisions in a fast-paced, self-assist retail environment.
- Collaborative team player with a growth mindset and passion for luxury beauty.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, OneNote, and Teams.

Pay
Salary Range: $82,000–$116,800. The actual compensation will depend on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
