About the role
The Account Director is responsible for the stability and profitability of a large account. They are a savvy manager with extensive knowledge of the brand with a proven track record of effective initiatives that help achieve client goals, including driving revenue. The Account Director owns the client relationship on all brands, owns the brand strategy, and effectively influences the client to achieve brand objectives. They are also responsible for staffing, managing, and leading the assigned account team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for growth of accounts and ensure overall profitability
- Manage executive leadership team and provide ongoing account updates and plans to reach business goals
- Act as the single point of contact for the client to the agency, and the agency to the client
- Create enduring relationships with clients at the most senior level
- Be a collaborative partner to internal department leaders to ensure the greatest good and success for the agency
- Partner with the Operations and Production Management teams to problem solve staffing challenges and inspire regular communication cross functionally
- Manage, mentor, and grow the Account team to provide the highest level of client care and team development
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure the Account team is meeting and exceeding goals
- Work with clients to define goals and corresponding KPIs, and communicate these to the internal team
- Contribute positively to agency culture and advocate for Account team participation and opportunities
- Establish the agency as a strategic creative partner by ensuring the work developed is in service of the larger client objectives and strategy
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to client business challenges
- Exhibit superb communication and relationship management skills
- Effectively navigate challenging situations internally, with clients and partners
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience in client management, agency preferred
- Previously leading $5M+ books of business with YoY growth
- Cross-functional leadership and influencing skill; ability to build strong partnerships both outside and within
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets and objectives personally and as a leader
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; the atmosphere of an agency energizes you, and you understand how to thrive when change is constant, and obstacles need to be overcome with optimism, creativity, and teamwork
- Adept at managing and mentoring team members to drive personal and professional growth
