About the Role
Receives training and assists in a trainee capacity in activities pertaining to professional accounting work.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and/or reconciles general journals and general ledger accounts and related books and accounts.
- Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and related accounting and financial reports.
- Identifies significant changes in account balances and reviews transactions to determine the actions causing those changes.
- Conducts accounts examinations, including preparing worksheets or reports reflecting discrepancies and corrective entries required to adjust accounts.
- Makes estimates of operating procedures and needs requirements for operating budgets.
- Prepares and/or analyzes financial statements and accounting reports.
Requirements
Education
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree, including a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours in accounting and/or auditing.
Substitutions Allowed
- Experience for Education: Professional accounting or auditing experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Professional, analytical, or administrative experience (not requiring knowledge of accounting/auditing principles) may substitute for the education requirement if the applicant has completed at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing from an accredited college or university.
- Responsible experience involving financial statement preparation, analysis of accounting reports, or related duties may qualify as substitution.
