Access Specialist I - Oncology

Responsibilities

• Serves as the single point of contact for referring physicians and new oncology patients.
• Receives all incoming phone calls, web requests, and referral sources and follows through with relevant inquiry information to appropriate clinical team.
• Facilitates patients' diagnostic, ambulatory, and treatment scheduling from the Oncology practice to meet each individual patient's needs.
• Works directly with practice leadership to maximize patient experience and operational workflow within both the Oncology practice and BH Infusion Centers.
• Schedules all BMG Oncology patients for BH infusion and diagnostic services, as well as return ambulatory appointments.
• Maintains and documents insurance verification (benefit) requirements.
• Ensures BHC has accurate and up-to-date information to process claims and obtain payment, including complete review of financial clearances.
• Understands and complies with regulatory agency requirements related to software under PASS’ management (Joint Commission, HIPPA, EMTALA, OIG, CMS, etc.).

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum Work Experience: 2 years
• Registration and/or scheduling experience with medical terminology required
