About the role

The Access & Reimbursement Manager, NPS- Allergy Washington, DC geography, is a remote and field-based role covering Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Alexandria, VA. The role requires the associate to reside within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 60 miles from the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Interact within assigned accounts to support patient access within their therapeutic area product(s), providing proactive face-to-face education on product-specific programs to providers and staff to integrate these programs into office processes and workflows.
  • Analyze problems and offer solutions related to payer policies such as utilization management, denial, and appeals, drug acquisition and inventory management, and patient/practice reimbursement (e.g., co-pay, administration, drug claims).
  • Identify trends at a local, regional, and national level and collaborate internally and externally to support patient pull-through.
  • Interface with the Patient Support Center (hub) on important matters related to patient case management, including tracking cases, issue resolution, reimbursement support, and educating office staff.
  • Review patient-specific information in cases where the site has specifically requested assistance and patient health information is available to resolve any issues or coverage challenges.
  • Collaborate with aligned cross-functional associates within Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NPC) to share insights on customer needs and barriers for their aligned therapeutic area product(s) related to access and reimbursement.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of NPC policies and requirements and perform all responsibilities with integrity and in a manner consistent with company guidance and prescribed Values and Behaviors.
  • Handle Patient Identifiable Information (PII) appropriately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy laws and regulations and internal Company compliance guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum three to five years’ experience in public or private third-party Reimbursement arena or pharmaceutical industry in managed care, clinical support, or sales.
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy products acquired through Specialty Pharmacy networks or specialty distributors (buy and bill).
  • Experience with coding, billing, and office support programs.
  • Prior account management experience or prior experience with complex accounts (Payer landscape, high patient volume, large systems).
  • Knowledge of Managed Care, Government, and Federal payer sectors, as well as Integrated Delivery Network/Integrated Health Systems.
  • Ability to operate as a “team player” in collaborating with multiple sales representatives, sales leadership, and internal colleagues to reach common goals.

  • Experience working within Buy and Bill environments, including reimbursement and access support for provider-administered therapies.

Skills

  • Keen ability to problem solve and analyze access and reimbursement issues and opportunities.
  • Proactive communication skills to address changes in the healthcare landscape.
  • Strong collaboration and partnership skills to work closely with other Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NPC) field associates, including Customer Engagement (Sales) and Market Access.

Benefits

The pay for this position is expected to range between $138,600 and $257,400 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life, and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays, and other leaves.

Pay

The salary for this position is expected to range between $138,600, and $257,400 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Schedule

The role is remote and field-based, requiring the associate to travel 60-80% over a broad geography. A valid driver's license is required. Employees are expected to handle Patient Identifiable Information (PII) appropriately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy laws and regulations and internal Company compliance guidelines.

Driving is an Essential Function of this Role: Meaning it is fundamental to the purpose of this job and cannot be eliminated. Because driving is an essential function of the role, you must have a fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license to be qualified for this role.
