Access Control Technician

Access Control / Security Systems Technician Location: Charleston, SC Area Schedule: Primarily 1st Shift Some Flexibility Required Start Date: Immediate Job Overview KCI Telecommunications is seeking Access Control / Security Systems Technicians to support ongoing projects throughout the Charleston, SC market. We are looking for technicians with experience installing access control, security cameras, and low-voltage cabling systems. Multiple experience levels are being considered, from developing technicians with approximately 1 2 years of field experience to experienced security and access control technicians. Responsibilities Install and mount security cameras and associated equipmentInstall door access and access control systemsPerform low-voltage and structured cabling installation as requiredPull, route, dress, and terminate cablingSupport inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) installationsAssist with physical security and perimeter security system installationsPerform camera aiming and adjustments as requiredRead and follow project drawings, installation plans, and site requirementsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentWork alongside Foremen, Leads, and other technicians to complete installations on schedule Experience programming or configuring security systems is a plus but not required. Qualifications Approximately 1 2+ years of relevant low-voltage, access control, security, or structured cabling experience preferredExperience with security camera and/or door access installation strongly preferredStructured cabling experience is a plusAbility to use standard hand and power tools associated with low-voltage installationComfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environmentsAbility to travel to project sites throughout the Charleston regionReliable transportation requiredAbility to work primarily first shift with flexibility when project schedules require it Tools & PPE Technicians should have their own basic low-voltage hand tools/tool bag. Larger equipment and specialty tools will be available on-site as required. Required PPE Steel-toe work bootsSafety glassesWork gloves Additional Site-specific PPE Will Be Provided As Required. Screening Requirements Must be able to successfully complete a 10-year background checkMust be able to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screening Travel Most project work will be located within approximately 1 1.5 hours of the Charleston market. Mileage reimbursement may be available for qualifying project travel exceeding approximately 60 miles or one hour each way.
