About the Role

This onsite position coordinates patient transfers from outside facilities, manages patient placement using clinical data, and ensures timely movement within the healthcare system. It involves arranging admissions, verifying medical necessity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and acting as a resource for EMTALA transfers.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient transfers from external facilities
• Communicate with physicians and clinical teams
• Document patient placements and transfer details
• Train staff on transfer protocols and procedures
• Apply critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment
• Work independently to ensure timely and compliant patient movement

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care or emergency department (ED) experience
