Access Care Representative ED

About the Role

The Access Care Representative performs a wide variety of activities related to scheduling, registration, financial compliance, and customer support for all services at United Health Services. Access Care areas serve as the entry point to UHS, and representatives are responsible for accurately collecting and maintaining data that drives the Billing and Health Information Management System. In the Emergency Department, duties include registering patients in the EPIC system, verifying demographics and insurance eligibility, scanning documents, collecting co-pays, and maintaining work queues.

Responsibilities

• Register patients into the EPIC system
• Obtain all required signatures per state and federal guidelines
• Conduct interviews with patients to verify demographics and insurance information
• Scan necessary documents into EPIC
• Collect co-pays when applicable
• Review and maintain the work queue consistently
• Represent United Health Services in a caring, professional manner

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar field

Qualifications

• Preferred: Associate’s Degree or 5 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree
• Preferred: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA)

Pay

$17.98 - $25.17 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule

• Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational
• Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32
