About the role

Teachers are expected to:

• Work with a diverse population of students.
• Create a safe, orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning.
• Provide resources to meet student learning needs.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with all stakeholders.
• Record and report student progress.
• Offer a minimum of one (1) synchronous office hour per week, available for virtual calls and meetings.

Responsibilities

Teachers will:

• Teach a 20-to-24-week online course.
• Be compensated for student completion of the course.
• Receive compensation for student withdrawals at a daily rate of $1.45.
• Report student progress and maintain records.
• Participate in weekly synchronous office hours.

Requirements

Candidates must have:

• A current NYSED certification in their content area.
• Five (5) years of documented teaching experience.
• Proficiency with computer technology.
• A responsiveness to students and all other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• An effective skill set in teaching and learning, engaging learners of all levels.
• Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments.
• Understanding of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• The ability to promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.

Pay

$245.00 per student completion of a 20-to-24-week online course.

If the student withdraws prior to completion, the teacher will be compensated at a daily rate of $1.45.

Compensation is in the month following course completion or withdrawal.

Schedule

Asynchronous online learning program.

Minimum of one (1) synchronous office hour per week.

Office hours are available for virtual calls and meetings.
