Accelerated Senior Nurse Extern Program
About the role
Orlando Health Hospitals seeks to inspire individuals who are passionate about healthcare and eager to learn from experienced nurses. This program offers hands-on experience in various nursing units, including specialty, medical-surgical, and progressive care units.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients to gain practical experience and confidence in nursing.
- Work closely with a trained preceptor for personalized guidance and support.
- Participate in supplementary educational sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Build relationships with Orlando Health nursing leadership and contribute to community service.
- Network with professionals and explore career opportunities within the Orlando Health system.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program with an expected graduation date by August 2027.
- Completion of core nursing program courses and clinicals during the summer semester.
- Availability to participate in the ASNE Program from February 8th, 2027, until graduation, working one 12-hour shift per week.
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Active BLS certification required.
Qualifications
- Preferred enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
- Experience in a clinical setting is beneficial but not required.
