Role Overview: The Student Nurse Extern (SNE) provides basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, focusing on enhancing clinical skills and patient experience. Responsibilities: Perform age-appropriate, culturally competent care such as hygiene, vital signs, mobility, and assistance with daily activities. Support safety protocols, infection control, and team initiatives. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Assist with transporting supplies, medications, and equipment. Participate in performance improvement and professional development activities. Qualifications: Must have completed at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be enrolled in a nursing program with a minimum of one semester completed. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association. Strong communication, interpersonal, multitasking, and computer skills are essential. Ability to function effectively in stressful situations and prioritize tasks is required. Skills & Attributes: Compassion, organization, teamwork, attention to detail, and professionalism are vital to succeed in this role.
