Basic Qualifications
- Proficiency in CREO Parametric or similar 3D CAD software tools - Windchill, EPDM
- Understanding of and able to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Self-starter and independent worker
- Experience with launcher and missile canister development as well as the materials employed in their development
- Experience working programs in dynamic environments such as space or undersea applications
- Comfortable working on a dynamic, fast-paced team under demanding schedules
- Experience designing and manufacturing composite products
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Accelerated Materials & Product Development (AMPD) engineering department and laboratory. In this role you will design, analyze, and test a variety of structures and systems to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards.
Lay out conceptual designs early in the design phase and support proposal efforts
Lead mechanical design with minimal support throughout the execution phase on multiple projects
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to evaluate material and component structural and thermal data applying it to the design
Interpret design specifications, codes, and standards to ensure project compliance.
Collaborate with project teams to verify design intent and resolve issues promptly.
Provide technical support during fabrication and validation phases of the engineering cycle.
