Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Driver Academy, overseeing all aspects of driver instruction, including classroom, range, and road training, while ensuring compliance with state regulations and maintaining our education commission.
- Oversee day-to-day Range & Road operations, ensuring quality instruction and training for Academy students and compliance with state regulations; assign duties to Range and Road Instructors as needed.
- Lead and motivate staff to meet Academy goals and objectives.
- Ensure the Academy maintains high productivity, progressive training methods, and top-quality instruction materials.
- Maintain compliance with state regulations, VA, DOT, and PTDIA standards.
- Manage driver instruction operations and facilitate classroom, range, and road instruction as needed to transition graduating students to Company drivers.
- Develop and monitor the Academy's budget.
- Participate in the development of training manuals and methods.
- Interface with driver services to ensure revenue on Academy trucks.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively to meet company demands and expectations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Five years of experience as an Over the Road (OTR) driver.
- Two years of experience with a truck driver school.
- Two years of management experience.
- One year of safety-related experience.
- Must meet and maintain PTDI and CVTA standards.
- One year of truck driver school or safety experience may substitute for each year of required college education.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage and analyze budgets.
- Strong decision-making skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay
$71,500 - $90,000 annual.
