Academic Year Science Tutor

About the role

Provide science tutoring to Upward Bound high school students during the academic year, Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and by appointment throughout the week, as requested by students. May occasionally implement grade-level specific college preparatory science activities and lessons.

Schedule

• Saturdays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
• Additional appointments as requested by students
• Academic year position (approximately 9 months)
• 3–5 hours per week

Pay

• Hourly pay rate: $12.00

Requirements

• Involved in a post-secondary institution with a major in the pertinent academic discipline or evidence of equivalent knowledge and/or experience
• Experience in tutoring, mentoring, and/or community service with high school level students

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of TRIO program or experience in overcoming the challenges and/or circumstances similar to those of the target population
