About the role

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) seeks an Academic Urologist to join its growing Division of Urology within the Department of Surgery. This position offers the opportunity to develop a broad‑based clinical practice while contributing to education, mentorship, research, and program development at one of Texas’ premier academic health centers. Faculty appointments are available at ranks commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments, and the department provides significant flexibility in practice development, academic involvement, and leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive urologic care including outpatient visits, surgical procedures, inpatient management, and consultative services.
• Teach residents and medical students in a collaborative academic environment.
• Pursue scholarly activities that align with professional interests and departmental priorities.
• Participate in building and expanding specialty programs and departmental growth initiatives.
• Contribute to innovation in simulation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and surgical education.
• Engage in leadership opportunities as the division expands from five to nine faculty members.
