Academic Tutoring Specialist

This role is designed for educators, tutors, and academic coaches who wish to make a significant impact in young people's lives. You'll work in a dynamic after-school setting where relationships are key to achieving results.
Responsibilities
Teach, tutor, and coach daily, providing hands-on help in core subjects like math, reading, writing, science, and social studies.
Adapt your strategies to meet individual needs and continuously assess each member's progress, delivering feedback that builds both skill and confidence.
Design and facilitate academic enrichment sessions with clear objectives, differentiated methods, and targeted skill-building activities.
Develop plans that connect academics to life skills and employability, helping students understand the importance of education in their future.
Coach members on study strategies, organization, time management, and goal-setting, guiding them through post-secondary planning, resume development, scholarship research, and career exploration.
Celebrate growth and progress, reinforcing a growth mindset and building resilience.
Collaborate with families and schools, connecting with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure all members are supported.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, a core academic subject, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field is required.
A Master’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred, but not required.
A state teaching license or certification is not required but may be beneficial.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in teaching, tutoring, academic coaching, or a youth-focused educational role.
Experience working with middle or high school-aged students is highly desirable.

Pay
