Academic Tutor "Pool"

Job Responsibilities

Piedmont Technical College is seeking Part-Time Tutors to build a pool of qualified applicants to support students across a variety of academic areas. Current needs include Math, English, Anatomy and Physiology, Computer Technology, Allied Health, Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, and Accounting. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed as tutoring needs arise.

Requirements

• Reliable, responsible, patient, and personable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Above-average understanding of the subject area in which they are assisting
• Knowledge of basic teaching or tutoring techniques
• Familiarity with academic programs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• A high school diploma or GED is required
• Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting undergraduate education and student success
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are also required
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED, or official/unofficial transcripts if a higher degree has been earned
• An associate degree or higher is preferred, along with prior tutoring experience
• Successfully completed the subject they wish to tutor with a grade of A or B

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of basic teaching or tutoring techniques, familiarity with academic programs, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
