Academic Scholar - Clinical Geneticist - Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, Division of Genetics
About the role
The Department of Pediatrics, University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Oishei Children’s Hospital is recruiting for an Academic Scholar – Clinical Geneticist. We are looking for a candidate who has experience both in the area of general genetics/dysmorphology and metabolism and is eager to help grow and support our regional genetics program.
Responsibilities
- Clinical duties will include inpatient consultation for children admitted to Oishei Children’s Hospital and outpatient care in our pediatric multispecialty clinic in collaboration with our genetic counselors.
- The successful candidate will have experience in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of children with genetic conditions and have a proven record of excellence in patient care in a family-centered environment.
- This position will offer potential research opportunities with protected time.
Requirements
- MD, PhD or equivalent degree
- Board certified in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics by ABMGG
Qualifications
Oishei Children’s Hospital and the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences are located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC), a consortium of the region’s premier health care, life sciences research and medical education institutes, all located on 120 acres in downtown Buffalo. This promotes strong interactions with the Clinical and Translational Research Center, the institute for Healthcare Informatics and the New York State Center of Excellence for Bioinformatics and Life Sciences including the Buffalo Institute for Genomics and Data Analytics, Center for Computational Research and Hunter James Kelly Research Institute.
