Academic Scholar - Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor HS, General Internal Medicine

About the role

The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York, the Department of Medicine, Division of Internal Medicine-Hospitalists, is seeking qualified Hospitalists with exceptional clinical and academic skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as clinical faculty and oversee the care of patients at two of our major affiliated hospital systems.
• Admit and round on all patients assigned to the Hospitalist Service (primarily adult, med/surg, telemetry patients) and consults on other services.
• During an average shift, Physicians will round on an average of 14-16 patients with 1-2 admits per day.
• Manage common conditions such as congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, diabetes, stroke, acute coronary syndrome, and sepsis.
• Not responsible for managing patients in MICU, CCU, and OBS units.
• Take advantage of opportunities for teaching medical students and supervising and training internal medicine residents, based on experience.
