About the role
The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York, the Department of Medicine, Division of Internal Medicine-Hospitalists, is seeking qualified Hospitalists with exceptional clinical and academic skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as clinical faculty and oversee the care of patients at two of our major affiliated hospital systems.
- Admit and round on all patients assigned to the Hospitalist Service (primarily adult, med/surg, telemetry patients) and consults on other services.
- During an average shift, Physicians will round on an average of 14-16 patients with 1-2 admits per day.
- Manage common conditions such as congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, diabetes, stroke, acute coronary syndrome, and sepsis.
- Not responsible for managing patients in MICU, CCU, and OBS units.
- Take advantage of opportunities for teaching medical students and supervising and training internal medicine residents, based on experience.
