Academic Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician
About the role
The Division of Respiratory, Critical Care and Occupational Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Utah is seeking applicants for faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor levels. Primary duties will include clinical care at the University of Utah Hospital and Healthcare Centers, educational activities with fellows, residents, and medical students, and work on translational research projects. Opportunities are available for programmatic development in a number of clinical arenas. Potential areas of special expertise can include (but are not limited to) general pulmonary consultation, sleep medicine, asthma, critical care, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis, and the genetics of lung diseases. For one of these positions, preference will be given to a candidate interested in developing a robust pulmonary and sleep practice.
Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical care at the University of Utah Hospital and Healthcare Centers
- Engage in educational activities with fellows, residents, and medical students
- Contribute to translational research projects
- Develop a robust pulmonary and sleep practice (for one position)
Requirements
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
- Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of Utah
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Experience in clinical care, education, and research in pulmonary and/or sleep medicine is preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain a robust clinical practice is desirable
