Academic Programs Administrator
About the role
The Department & Academic Programs Administrator supports the academic, admissions, student life, and administrative functions of the M.S. in Biohazardous Threat Agents & Emerging Infectious Diseases, MS in Biomedical Advocacy and Policy, MS and PhD in Microbiology and Immunology programs. The position coordinates activities for more than 50 graduate students and works closely with the Department Chair and Directors of Graduate Studies to ensure smooth program operations.
Responsibilities
- Advise and support ~50 graduate students; track academic progress and compliance
- Administer program logistics including course schedules, faculty support, events, and reports
- Collaborate with University offices to advance student services and departmental initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- 1–3 years of administrative, database, and computer experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team
- High attention to detail, reliability, and ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information
