About the Role

The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering’s Mechanical Engineering Department is seeking an exceptionally motivated, service-oriented Academic Programs Administrator I/II to thrive in a fast-paced academic environment characterized by dynamic growth. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and operational management skills, along with excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, designs, develops, executes, and/or manages strategies and programs for academic-related initiatives, groups, or services (may assist rather than lead in lower-level roles).
  • Assists the program head with high-level administrative and professional support responsibilities.
  • Coordinates program or service activities to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines, specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitates communication between administrators, faculty, staff, and students regarding programs and services.
  • Maintains databases to ensure accurate and accessible records.
  • Interacts with students to monitor progress on research projects and assignments.
  • Monitors budget and grant funding, ensuring expenditures align with projections; may research, write, submit, or administer grants and proposals.
  • Prepares, reviews, and edits communications for various media outlets.
  • Plans and implements resource development activities.

Requirements

  • Level I: Bachelor’s degree (no specific discipline required).
  • Level II: Bachelor’s degree (no specific discipline required) and 2 years of experience in project or program administration.
  • For roles requiring teaching: A Master’s degree is required.

Substitutions allowed for education: Relevant experience may substitute for education at a rate of two years of experience per year of required education.
