Academic Physician - MD/DO - Internal Medicine

About the Role

Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care, ensuring adherence to practice standards for the designated patient population. Assume full accountability for clinical decision-making during service hours and manage a private office if applicable. Offer scheduled office visits and after-hours call coverage for patients, coordinating call coverage with colleagues for holidays, vacations, and time off.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational and administrative policies, including budgeting, billing, and practice management decisions.
• Maintain responsibility for risk management, quality assurance, and compliance with coding and documentation standards.
• Ensure clinical documentation meets regulatory and institutional requirements and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in community and professional activities, including speaking, education, and clinical projects.
• Support academic collaborations, mentorship, and uphold professionalism within the organization.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the practice and organizational goals.
