Academic Pediatric Physician

About the role

Join a dedicated outpatient Pediatric Physician role focused on caring for children with chronic and complex medical needs. This position involves building a stable practice, teaching residents and medical students, and providing comprehensive outpatient care in a new facility.

Responsibilities

• Providing outpatient pediatric care with no inpatient duties.
• Managing approximately 20–24 patients daily, including complex cases.
• Teaching EVMS students and pediatric and family medicine residents, completing learner evaluations, and attending educational conferences.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team supported by social workers, nutritionists, and mental health professionals.
• Participating in a flexible schedule, mainly Tuesday–Friday, with remote administrative tasks.
• Serving as the primary call provider approximately 6–7 weeks per year, with triage support from nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Pediatrics.
• Strong commitment to teaching and outpatient pediatric care.
• Experience caring for medically complex children (preferred).

Schedule

Flexible schedule primarily Tuesday–Friday with remote administrative tasks; primary call provider duties approximately 6–7 weeks per year, supported by nursing staff triage.
