Academic Mentors Project - seeking hair stylist to work with student

The Academic Mentors Project

We connect high-achieving students with volunteer mentors who can offer guidance and real-world insight into career paths they are excited to explore.

Responsibilities

• Spending about six hours total with a mentee, spread across three to six sessions
• Providing guidance and real-world insight into a career in cosmetology
• Offering support and encouragement to a 9th-grade student interested in pursuing a career in cosmetology
• Mentoring typically takes place in a public setting, ideally in a salon environment
• Scheduling is very flexible, but must accommodate the mentee's availability

Requirements

• Must be a hair stylist
• Available to mentor in the fall of 2026
• Willing to provide guidance and real-world insight into a career in cosmetology
• Willing to meet with the mentee in a public setting, ideally in a salon environment
