Academic Intervention Specialist Bilingual-Sr (Spanish)- 6 hrs (MLK JHS)

Position Summary

Assists administrators, teachers, counselors, and other professionals with implementation of strategically aligned programs and interventions designed to increase student engagement and positive participation in an academic program. Trains and serves as a mentor to Behavior Intervention Specialists.

Requirements

• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
• Associate's degree in a behavioral or social science, education, or equivalent
• Four years of progressively responsible experience with a community based social services and behaviorally at-risk students with attendance problems
• Demonstration of proficiency in translation and interpretation
• Valid driver's license
• May require a valid first aid card

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred (will substitute for some experience)

Pay

• $32.58 - $43.04 per hour in 9 annual steps
• Salary placement is based on experience

Schedule

• 182 work days per year
• 6 hours/day; 5 days/week
