Academic Instructor Substitute
About the role
The San Diego Job Corps Center in Imperial Beach, CA is seeking a professional and caring individual to join its team. This position involves academic instruction according to approved curricula, providing basic direction and assistance to students, and maintaining records.
Responsibilities
- Provide students with basic direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
- Administer and correct rests and maintain progress and attendance reports.
- Aid in developing community linkages and volunteers for the department.
- Ensure accountability is taken each period and report student absences promptly.
- Participate in student assessment panels and perform required documentation and evaluations using CIS and other systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and substitute teaching certification, as required by the state of employment (or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire).
- One (1) year instructional experience preferred.
- Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency.
Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
