Academic Instructor

About the role

The Academic Instructor at CoreCivic provides instruction in basic education subjects to inmates/students, helping them develop skills for becoming mature, responsible citizens.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in mathematics, science, social studies, reading, writing and language arts.
• Maintain a positive learning environment through secure classroom management practices.
• Develop and implement lesson plans based on curriculum standards and applicable requirements.
• Administer tests to evaluate students' progress and competency with subject matter.
• Offer individualized instruction as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
• A teaching license is preferred.
• Possess or be eligible for certification, license or other credentials required by contract and/or state of employment.
• Three years of classroom instruction experience preferred.
• Experience in Microsoft Office applications is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
